Do You Know The Reasons Why Many of Your Prayers & Requests Are Not Answered?

There are many prayers you’ve said in your life that apparently go unanswered; at least you do not get exactly what you want, how you want and when you want it. And you sometimes wonder, “What is wrong?”, “Why can’t i get an answer to my prayers?”

Sometimes it means you haven’t prayed aright, or you haven’t asked for the right thing or you have already been replied but unable to see it. The last case is more common amongst us.

“If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him.” – Matthew 7:11

Sometimes we keep on asking for something when we have already been answered.

We do not always have to get it exactly as we wish, God gives us mainly what we need not everything we want. Things we want could conflict with our salvation, and God out of love could prevent us from getting such wishes fulfilled since it means our ruin. Also, we have to remember that “No” is also an answer. God can refuse to answer even the things that we seemingly need, however, this does not mean that God doesn’t love us, but he does all things as they lead ultimately to our salvation. Most times we are unable to see the connections, but He does.

We may be asking the wrong God

Sometimes our imagination of God could get in the way of our prayers. So many people worship a magnified man; some big guy sitting on a chair, white curly hair, large hands and feet. However, God is pure Spirit, He has no parts, He is invisible. He is definitely not sitting on any chair anywhere. The words of the Bible that thus picture Him only speak metaphorically.

Also, other images of God that might hinder us is picturing God as vengeful. This might make us afraid of approaching God in confidence. We need to see God more and more as a Father who is always willing to save His children, no matter how far away they stray. Like the image of the Prodigal Son parable, he waits at the door and hugs us whenever we return. He doesn’t remember our sins, and he bedecks us with salvation and grace.

We do not love, forgive

You needn’t be a saint to get God’s attention. God is close to the sinner in a special way. However, if we must enter into communion with him, and be his friend, we must love, we must forgive. Or at least, we must try. If you recall the words of Christ?

Therefore if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar.First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift. – Matthew 5:23-24

Be patient

Be persistent, be patient. God sometimes takes a while to attend to the things we think we need. Be steady, be still. As long as you ask what is in accordance with his will, he will  surely answer.

If we learn to ask God for his will to be done in our lives, we’ll be more peaceful since nothing from heaven breeds worry, and we’ll be more secure since it comes from God “who is our salvation”

However when we have been selfish with our wishes and prayers, we can’t always be happy, since they’re only from us and do not always lead to God.

Allow God, he knows more than you, loves you more than you, and has more power than you. You won’t regret submitting to him !
